About the Journal
|
Polisoc Law Review (PSLR) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access legal journal dedicated to publishing critical, empirical, and interdisciplinary scholarship at the intersection of political science, sociology of law, constitutional jurisprudence, and public policy. Recognizing that legal systems do not operate in a vacuum but are deeply embedded within dynamic political and social structures, PSLR provides an intellectual forum for legal scholars, political scientists, sociologists, human rights advocates, and policy analysts. The journal prioritizes research that examines how legal norms, judicial decisions, and institutional governance interact with socio-political movements, state power dynamics, democratic transformations, and social justice struggles.
PSLR invites original research articles, doctrinal and socio-legal analyses, comparative legal reviews, and policy critiques. Key thematic areas include, but are not limited to:
Socio-Legal Studies & Legal Sociology: Law in society, legal culture, access to justice, customary law, legal pluralism, and the social impact of judicial decisions.
Political Jurisprudence & State Governance: Constitutional politics, electoral law, separation of powers, rule of law in transitional democracies, and authoritarian legalism.
Human Rights, Social Justice & Civil Liberties: Protection of marginalized communities, indigenous rights, freedom of expression, gender equality, and public interest litigation.
Public Law, Regulation & Policy Dynamics: Administrative justice, regulatory governance, anti-corruption policies, legislative drafting, and the politics of law-making.
Transnational Law & Global Socio-Political Systems: International human rights law, global governance frameworks, treaty compliance, and the socio-legal dimensions of globalization and regional integration.
Polisoc Law Review (PSLR) is published biannually (2 issues per year: June and December), maintaining an online-first continuous publishing model to ensure rapid peer review and immediate global open-access dissemination.
To uphold academic rigor and legal scholarship standards, PSLR enforces a strict double-anonymous peer review protocol. All submitted manuscripts undergo preliminary editorial screening to assess thematic alignment, originality, structural clarity, and adherence to academic ethics (conforming to COPE standards). Manuscripts passing desk review are assigned to a minimum of two independent international reviewers with specialized expertise in socio-legal studies, political jurisprudence, or public law. Evaluation criteria center on theoretical depth, analytical rigor, methodological soundness, citation accuracy, and practical contribution to legal and socio-political discourse.
The mission of Polisoc Law Review is to advance the critical understanding of law as a socio-political institution by publishing rigorous, interdisciplinary legal research, fostering intellectual debate on democracy and justice, and providing open-access knowledge to shape equitable legal systems and public policy worldwide.
