Medispha Integrative Journal (MIJ) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing pioneering research across the continuum of integrative medicine, holistic healthcare systems, complementary therapeutics, and conventional medical sciences. Grounded in the philosophy of whole-person care and multi-system biological balance, MIJ serves as an authoritative platform for medical scientists, integrative practitioners, clinical pharmacologists, and healthcare researchers. The journal prioritizes rigorous empirical studies, mechanistic investigations, and translational clinical evaluations that bridge evidence-based complementary therapies with conventional clinical practice to optimize patient outcomes and systemic wellness.

Scope and Topics

MIJ invites original empirical research, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, clinical case reports, and translational health communications. Key areas of focus include, but are not limited to:

  • Integrative Clinical Practice & Therapies: Evidence-based complementary medicine, phytotherapy, acupuncture, mind-body interventions, lifestyle medicine, and integrative clinical protocols across specialties (oncology, cardiology, neurology, and pain management).

  • Herbal Medicine & Natural Product Pharmacology: Pharmacognosy, bioactive compound isolation, mechanistic pharmacology, safety profiling, and herb-drug interaction dynamics.

  • Whole-Person Health & Systems Biology: Psychoneuroimmunology, gut-brain axis interactions, metabolic network regulation, and lifestyle-driven biological adaptation.

  • Preventive, Functional & Regenerative Medicine: Functional biomarkers, nutritional interventions, chronic disease reversal frameworks, restorative therapies, and longevity sciences.

  • Integrative Health Policy & Healthcare Quality: Patient-centered outcomes research, healthcare provider education in integrative care, safety monitoring, regulatory standards, and interprofessional clinical collaboration.

Publication Frequency

Medispha Integrative Journal (MIJ) is published biannually (2 issues per year: June and December), maintaining an online-first publication pipeline to facilitate timely peer review and rapid global open-access dissemination.

Peer Review Process

To maintain international academic standards and clinical integrity, MIJ enforces a strict double-anonymous peer review protocol. All submitted manuscripts undergo preliminary editorial screening by the Editorial Board to assess scope relevance, structural integrity, ethical compliance (conforming to ICMJE, COPE, and Declaration of Helsinki standards), and similarity index thresholds. Manuscripts passing desk review are evaluated by at least two independent international experts specializing in integrative medicine, pharmacology, or relevant clinical subfields. Evaluation criteria center on methodological and statistical rigor, biological/clinical plausibility, data reproducibility, clarity of presentation, and translational value for integrative patient care.

Mission Statement

The mission of Medispha Integrative Journal is to advance the scientific foundation of integrative healthcare by publishing rigorous, evidence-based research, fostering dialogue between conventional and complementary medical disciplines, and providing open-access knowledge to improve individual well-being and global health outcomes.
