About the Journal

Matrix of Economics and Finance (MEF) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing advanced theoretical, empirical, and quantitative research at the interconnected crossroads of macroeconomic dynamics, microeconomic structures, capital markets, and corporate financial systems. Modeling economic systems and financial networks as multi-dimensional matrices of interdependent agents, markets, and policy levers, MEF provides an authoritative intellectual forum for academic economists, financial econometricians, investment strategists, central bankers, and policy analysts. The journal prioritizes high-impact contributions that employ rigorous quantitative methods, econometric modeling, and data-driven frameworks to analyze financial volatility, market efficiency, monetary interventions, and global economic systemic risks.
MEF welcomes original empirical research articles, mathematical and computational modeling papers, systematic literature reviews, and policy analyses. Core thematic areas include, but are not limited to:
Quantitative & Empirical Asset Pricing: Factor models, equity valuation, derivative pricing, market microstructure, portfolio optimization, and liquidity risk modeling.
Banking, Financial Intermediation & FinTech: Credit risk assessment, digital banking architectures, algorithmic trading, decentralized finance (DeFi), and systemic risk in banking networks.
Macroeconomic Policy & Monetary Economics: Central bank frameworks, inflation targeting, fiscal-monetary interactions, currency markets, and sovereign debt sustainability.
Corporate Finance & Governance: Capital structure decisions, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), payout policies, corporate investment efficiency, and executive compensation dynamics.
Applied Econometrics & Financial Big Data: Time series forecasting, panel data econometrics, spatial economics, machine learning in financial forecasting, and high-frequency data modeling.
Sustainable Finance & ESG Matrix: Green bonds, climate risk pricing in financial assets, sustainable investment portfolios, and carbon credit market dynamics.
Matrix of Economics and Finance (MEF) is published triannually (3 issues per year: April, August, and December), operating an online-first continuous publishing model to ensure rapid editorial decisions and immediate global open-access dissemination.
To uphold rigorous academic integrity, econometric precision, and scientific validity, MEF enforces a strict double-anonymous peer review protocol. Submitted manuscripts undergo preliminary editorial screening by the Editorial Board to assess thematic alignment, originality, structural clarity, and plagiarism thresholds (adhering to COPE standards). Manuscripts passing desk review are assigned to at least two independent international experts specializing in financial economics, quantitative finance, or applied econometrics. Review criteria center on theoretical depth, methodological and mathematical rigor, data reproducibility, analytical clarity, and actionable value for financial practitioners and economic policymakers.
The mission of Matrix of Economics and Finance is to advance global scholarship across the financial-economic continuum by publishing rigorous, mathematically sound, and data-driven research, decoding the complex matrix of global markets, and delivering open-access knowledge to foster financial stability and sustainable economic progress worldwide.
