Journal of BioSyn Health Systems (JBHS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing advanced research at the confluence of biological sciences, synthetic biology, biomedical systems engineering, and integrated health delivery networks. As modern healthcare transitions toward bio-convergent technologies and complex systems-level interventions, JBHS provides an authoritative academic forum for biomedical engineers, bioinformaticians, clinical system designers, and health informatics researchers. The journal prioritizes high-impact empirical investigations, computational models, and translational frameworks that bridge synthetic biological innovations with operational health systems to enhance diagnostic accuracy, therapeutic efficacy, and healthcare delivery resilience.
JBHS invites original empirical research articles, comprehensive review papers, computational model validations, and technical reports across the spectrum of biosystems and healthcare engineering. Core thematic areas include, but are not limited to:
Synthetic Biology & Cellular Systems: Engineered biological circuits, synthetic genomics, metabolic engineering for therapeutics, cellular therapies, and biomolecular manufacturing systems.
Biomedical Systems Engineering & Nanomedicine: Bio-MEMS, smart biomaterials, targeted nanocarriers, integrated biosensing platforms, and implantable medical micro-systems.
Computational Biology & Systems Bioinformatics: Multi-omics data integration, predictive cellular modeling, network biology, structural bioinformatics, and bio-inspired computing algorithms.
Bio-Convergent Healthcare Infrastructure: Integration of biological diagnostics into clinical workflows, point-of-care bio-fabrication, and automated laboratory systems.
Health Systems Optimization & Biosecurity: Biosafety protocols, dual-use research governance, biomanufacturing supply chain resilience, and system-wide clinical safety frameworks.
Journal of BioSyn Health Systems (JBHS) is published triannually (3 issues per year: April, August, and December), utilizing an online-first continuous publishing model to ensure rapid peer review and immediate open-access dissemination.
To uphold rigorous scientific standards and methodological validity, JBHS enforces a strict double-anonymous peer review protocol. All submitted manuscripts undergo preliminary editorial screening to assess thematic alignment, structural completeness, plagiarism index parameters, and ethical compliance (including biosafety, COPE, and international clinical guidelines). Manuscripts meeting desk standards are evaluated by at least two independent international experts specializing in synthetic biology, biomedical engineering, or health systems science. Evaluation criteria center on scientific novelty, experimental/computational rigor, reproducibility of data, clarity of presentation, and translational systems impact.
The mission of Journal of BioSyn Health Systems is to pioneer interdisciplinary scholarship bridging biological synthesis, systems engineering, and clinical healthcare, advancing evidence-based technological innovations and fostering open-access scientific knowledge to build resilient, next-generation health systems globally.
