EduSphereX: Journal of Learning Ecosystems (EJLE) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing visionary, empirical, and systemic research on holistic learning environments, educational ecosystems, and multi-stakeholder knowledge networks. Grounded in ecological systems theory and contemporary socio-technical paradigms, EJLE views education not as isolated institutional silos, but as interconnected, dynamic ecosystems comprising learners, educators, community stakeholders, digital infrastructures, policy mechanisms, and industries. The journal serves as an authoritative platform for educational sociologists, learning scientists, policy architects, and academic leaders seeking to design, analyze, and optimize resilient and equitable learning ecosystems worldwide.

Scope and Topics

EJLE welcomes original empirical research, systematic reviews, socio-ecological modeling, and policy evaluation papers across all levels of formal, non-formal, and informal education. Key areas of inquiry include, but are not limited to:

  • Socio-Technical Learning Ecosystems: Integration of digital platforms, community networks, and smart campus technologies into cohesive educational environments.

  • Cross-Sectoral & Collaborative Networks: University-industry-government partnerships (Triple/Quadruple Helix models), community-engaged learning, and regional knowledge hubs.

  • Ecosystem Resilience, Equity & Inclusion: Sustainable educational infrastructures, closing digital divides, inclusive learning ecologies, and educational resilience during systemic disruptions.

  • Lifelong & Boundaryless Learning Paradigms: Micro-credentialing systems, workplace learning integration, informal learning validation, and continuous professional development pathways.

  • Systemic Governance & Educational Policy: Systems thinking in education reform, resource distribution models, institutional quality assurance, and macro-level educational policy evaluation.

Publication Frequency

EduSphereX: Journal of Learning Ecosystems (EJLE) is published triannually (3 issues per year: April, August, and December), operating an online-first publication pipeline to facilitate rigorous peer evaluation and immediate global open-access dissemination.

Peer Review Process

To ensure high scientific quality and methodological transparency, EJLE enforces a strict double-anonymous peer review protocol. All submitted manuscripts undergo preliminary desk evaluation by the Editorial Board to assess thematic alignment, original scholarly contribution, ethical compliance, and structural completeness. Manuscripts passing desk review are assigned to a minimum of two independent international experts specializing in learning sciences, educational sociology, or systems engineering in education. Peer review criteria center on conceptual novelty, methodological rigor, systemic depth, empirical validity, and practical relevance to scalable learning ecosystems.

Mission Statement

The mission of EduSphereX: Journal of Learning Ecosystems is to pioneer systems-level scholarship in education, foster cross-boundary collaboration among diverse educational actors, and provide open-access research that informs the design and governance of dynamic, equitable, and sustainable learning ecosystems globally.
