EduNexus: Journal of Intelligent Learning Systems (EJILS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to publishing pioneering research at the intersection of educational technology, intelligent computing, learning sciences, and artificial intelligence. As digital learning environments evolve toward adaptive, automated, and personalized ecosystems, EJILS serves as an authoritative scholarly platform for computer scientists, educational technologists, cognitive scientists, and curriculum designers. The journal prioritizes original empirical investigations, system architectures, pedagogical models, and translational frameworks that leverage intelligent systems to transform pedagogical practice, learner engagement, and educational outcomes globally.

Scope and Topics

EJILS invites original empirical research articles, comprehensive review papers, system design and validation studies, and theoretical frameworks covering intelligent systems in education. Key thematic areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Intelligent Tutoring & Adaptive Learning Systems: Personalized learning environments, adaptive assessment platforms, recommendation engines for educational content, and automated mastery-learning frameworks.

  • Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED): Generative AI for pedagogical applications, educational chatbots, natural language processing for automated grading/feedback, and intelligent learner modeling.

  • Educational Data Mining & Learning Analytics: Predictive analytics for student retention, multimodal learning analytics, behavioral tracking, knowledge tracing, and dashboard design for educational interventions.

  • Immersive & Gamified Educational Technologies: Extended reality (AR/VR/MR) in learning, virtual lab simulations, intelligent serious games, and gamified pedagogical mechanics.

  • Ethics, Privacy & Governance in EdTech: Algorithmic bias in educational AI, student data privacy, ethical AI adoption policies in academic institutions, and human-in-the-loop instructional systems.

Publication Frequency

EduNexus: Journal of Intelligent Learning Systems (EJILS) is published triannually (3 issues per year: April, August, and December), operating an online-first continuous publishing model to ensure rapid editorial decisions and open-access dissemination.

Peer Review Process

To uphold academic rigor and technical validity, EJILS enforces a strict double-anonymous peer review protocol. All submitted manuscripts undergo preliminary editorial screening to assess thematic alignment, original contribution, structural adherence, and similarity index parameters. Manuscripts meeting desk approval are assigned to at least two independent international experts specializing in intelligent educational systems, AI, or educational technology. Peer review criteria center on algorithmic/pedagogical novelty, methodological precision, empirical validity, system scalability, and practical educational impact.

Mission Statement

The mission of EduNexus: Journal of Intelligent Learning Systems is to lead scholarly discourse on intelligent educational technologies, advance evidence-based computational models of learning, and provide an open-access platform for innovative research that bridges computer science, pedagogy, and cognitive systems worldwide.
